Peter's Wedding Cost N150 Million Naira- Peter and Lola(Interview)

Peter and Lola Okoye’s traditional wedding cost N150milion….so Tiwa Savage’s N30million wedding is nothing when compared to theirs, right?!
Anyway, the newly wed couple, Peter and Lola in a recent interview withEncomium Mag had so much to say about their wedding, read all the juicy excerpts below:

Congratulations on your wedding to the mother of your children, Lola.

Thank you very much.

How does it feel now that you finally married her?

It feels great. I wouldn’t have felt better. To God be the glory.

How would you describe the joy of the day?

It was awesome, great, spectacular.

Lola, how does it feel settling down with the man that means the world to you?

It’s a good feeling. I’m happy about it.

Peter, how would you describe your wife?

Honestly, she is a wonderful woman. She has virtually all the qualities that every man would want in his ideal woman. She’s caring, loving, God-fearing, hard working – just name it, that’s my wife for you.

What are the sterling qualities that endeared her to your heart?

I just said that now. No man will not want to spend the rest of his life with a woman that possesses the qualities I mentioned.

Why was the wedding delayed till now despite having all it takes to be a husband?

The truth is that we have always known that the wedding will come up. We just didn’t want to rush things unnecessarily. We waited for the right time.

Entertainers are not used to keeping one woman, how is your own case going to be different?

Entertainers don’t keep one woman? I don’t think so.

Is there any iota of truth in the tale that your family didn’t support the wedding?

That is very far from being the truth. I saw some of those reports and was full of laughter. Everybody is just laughing because the reports are like comedy to us. Honestly, there is no iota of truth in the rumour. But it’s one of the prices you pay as a celebrity, so I remain focused.

Lola, how would you describe him?

Peter is a very loving, caring and romantic guy. He’s somebody who likes to see smiles on the faces of everybody around him, and most important, he’s a go-getter. He has the spirit and drive of a winner in everything he does.

How are you prepared to cope with the challenges of marrying an entertainer of his calibre?

We have been together for many years, so, that’s nothing to worry about really. He definitely knows how to strike a balance between his celebrity life and family.

Your relationship with Peter has been blessed with two kids already, how many more do you intend to have?

Only God knows.

Would you say you are fulfilled now that you’re married to Peter?

I have always been fulfilled with him because we have always known that a time like this will come. We only needed to take our time and we thank God for bringing us this far.

What was your reaction the day he proposed to you?

I reacted the way any other lady in my shoes would react. I was full of excitement.

[Video] Oshiomole Apologises Over ''Go And Die'' Comment Made To Widow.....

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo today Friday November 29,2013 apologised for the comments he made to a widow in Benin during an inspection tour on Mission Road, in the state capital, a fortnight ago.

Oshiomhole said that he now regretted the comments which had become the subject of discourse in the social media.

The Governor, however, noted that he made the comments in anger.
Oshiomhole’s apology was made when the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), paid him a courtesy visit in Benin.
He noted that though the challenge of modern times had bestowed on the shoulders of some women and single mothers the status of bread winners of their homes, such should not be used as an accuse to flout the laws……………culled

*Okay he has apologised...fine but shouldn't he be apologising to the lady?shouldn't he be returning
her wares that was taken away?shouldn't he ask if she has children and put them on government scholarship to help ease her burden? He has apologised to FOMWAN and that's it?

Anyone who reads this can say i am hating on the governor but that's your two cents,Oshiomole needs to look for that woman and make it up to her...He abused her emotionally..he took away her only source of livelihood and only God knows how she has managed to put food on the table since then.

Please if you know Oshiomole, tell him to do the right thing...i am sure i speak the mind of a few people...this is my two cents and i am not moving an inch forward or backward.

Presidency Rejects Rumour Of Asari-Dokubo Flying In Presidential Jet

The Presidency has denied reports that President Goodluck Jonathan sent the presidential jet to convey the militant Ijaw leader Mujahid Asari-Dokubo from Benin Republic to Nigeria. Dokubo was arrested on Tuesday in Benin Republic for unconfirmed reasons but was unexpectedly released yesterday.
Special Adviser to the president on media and publicity, Reuben Abati, told newsmen that the report of a presidential jet to bring back Dokubo is another attempt by mischief makers to play politics with facts.
“I can tell you that President Jonathan did not send any presidential jet to Benin Republic. Or hasAsari-Dokubo told anybody that he was brought to Nigeria in a presidential jet? So what is this all about? Blackmail and mischief obviously”, he said.
Abati wondered why such falsehood should be told when it is common knowledge an aircraft does not fly like a ghost in the air, adding that routine movement by any aircraft usually undergoes proper documentation, even as they are being seen landing at the airport.
The presidential spokesman said, “There is no truth in the report that a presidential jet was used to convey Asari-Dokubo. Again, what we see here is the attempt by people to just tell lies and try to package lies as the truth for gullible Nigerians to believe.
“I have read some reports in which they said ‘unconfirmed reports indicate…’ Nobody has been able to say anything categorically and I think it is very sad that people, in an attempt to just play politics with anything at all, will start packaging lies hoping that gullible persons will believe them.  Nobody can come up with any evidence that any presidential jet was sent to Benin Republic.”
Reports were rife especially in the social media that President Jonathan pressured the Beninoise authorities to release Dokubo and sent the presidential jet to bring him back to Nigeria.
However, Dokubo’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo, refused to comment on how his client was released and how he got back to Nigeria.
Dokubo is reported to own a university in Benin Republic and had promised to make the Francophone country his home.

Governor Babatunde Fashola Says Oduah’s Armoured Cars Will Buy 51 Police Patrol Vehicles

Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has said that the two armoured cars bought at the cost of N255 million for the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah, will purchase 51 patrol vehicles for the Nigerian Police.
The governor said this at the 7th annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, themed: ‘Sustaining Local Responding To Rising National Security Challenges,’ held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“It is sad to know that the Federal Government that allocate three patrol vehicles for one state police command of 370, 000 police men, is unable to resolve how N255 million was used to purchase 2 saloon vehicles for one officer. It is a very grave irony.
“The cost of average vehicle needed to patrol the state is just N5 million. And with such fund, we will have put at least 51 patrol vehicles on the road, patrolling the streets of Lagos.”

“In spite of all this, they resist the idea of a state police. The money from the fund was in the last one year used to provide vehicles for the Nigerian Prison Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC and indeed the airport wing of the Nigerian police, is funded from this money. And it is the same aviation ministry that manage the airport that we had this very odious car scandal of N255 million.”

The governor noted that the upshot of central Government’s failure to confront security has continued for the past seven years.
“The residents of Lagos have borne the burden of that neglect, and there is no indication that anything will change soon, in spite of endless reform deliberation and proposals.”
On the crime rate in the state, Fashola said “Our crime data base now has record content of 92, 488 which helps us to keep track of all those who have been arrested, prosecuted, jailed or have any contact with the criminal justice system.”
He added that the state is preparing for a future of crime prevention, saying “it will be technologically driven, scientifically grounded and result assured.”

Enough is enough, FG tells ASUU

* Go back to work Dec 4 or risk sack –Minister
From KEMI YESUFU, Abuja
Barely 24 hours after pro-chancellors of federal universities ordered vice-chancellors to re-open the institutions, the Federal Government yesterday took a definitive stand on the five months old strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) giving similar directive to the latter. In fact, they had up till December 4 to comply.
The government also directed that all vice-chancellors to ensure a conducive atmosphere for returning staff, just as it warned that lecturers that failed to resume on or before December 4 automatically cease to be employees of the institutions.
Government’s directive is coming days after fresh demands issued by ASUU which the union said have to be met before it calls off its five months old strike.
The new demands following its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held last Friday include that the government within two weeks begin the release and distribution of the N200billion it pledged to inject into the system.
ASUU also demanded that the government renegotiates the 2009 agreement by 2014 and that the Attorney-General of the Federation be made a signatory to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
But the supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, yesterday accused ASUU of taking the entire country for granted. The minister who spoke while announcing government’s new position at a press briefing held at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja said government  has reviewed the entire situation and concluded that the continuation of the strike was an attempt by the union to make a mess of all efforts to settle the dispute.
The minister who equally directed vice-chancellors to advertise for vacancies (internal and external) in their institutions for recalcitrant lecturers who will not yield to the directive, noted that government could no longer tolerate the continuous closure of its universities, after five months.
He said: “It was becoming obvious that the union is taking the Presidency and Nigerians for a ride. We have met with ASUU and if you engage in dispute and then we engage with you on dialogue, government has fulfilled its own part and you should also comply and go back to resume your normal activities.
“You would notice that it is only in this country where Mr. President will sit with you for over 13 hours and all issues have been resolved and you promised that within one week you will get back to us only to see a letter now giving new conditions outside what we have discussed. So, if anybody thinks that it is against the labour laws, well, they have a right to challenge government at the industrial court.
“Government will not fold its arms to continue to see the closure of universities, no responsible government will do that”, he said.
According to Wike,  the continued closure of universities was detrimental to the educational sector and the future of youths and national development.  He also  directed the National Universities Commission (NUC) to monitor the compliance of the directive by the various universities.
His said: “Government has reviewed the entire situation and come to the conclusion that the continuation of the strike is an attempt by ASUU to sabotage all the efforts to address the issues.
“As a responsible government, we cannot allow the continuous closure of our public universities for this length of time (five months), as this poses danger to the education system, the future of our youths and national development.
“Consequently, the Federal Government has directed that all Vice Chancellors of Federal Universities that are currently on strike should immediately re-open for academic and allied activities as directed by the Pro-chancellors.
“Vice-Chancellors should ensure that staff who resume for work are provided with the enabling environment for academic and allied activities, any academic staff who fails to resume on or before December 4, 2013 automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution. Vice-Chancellors are also directed to advertise vacancies (internal and external) in their institutions,” Wike said.
ASUU said it asked Jonathan to facilitate the endorsement of resolutions reached with him and signed by high ranking government official preferably the Attorney-General of the Federation, but not a permanent secretary.
… Threat won’t work –Striking
From GBENGA ADESUYI, Ibadan
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said yesterday it has been vindicated that the Federal Government was not committed to implementing the resolutions it reached with the union. It was the union’s reaction to the Federal Government’s order asking the vice chancellors to re-open the institutions by December 4.
ASUU said Federal Government is wasting the time of youths and Nigerians by failing to perfect the resolutions and get the strike suspended.
While saying strike is a legal action, ASUU said the threat would fail, noting that public universities still need to employ 60,000 lecturers.
The lecturers said they have every reasons to be wary following the failure of government to honour their promises to Academic Staff Union of Polythecnics (ASUP), resident doctors, and health workers who have suspended their strikes.
ASUU further said the threat is an insult to the sense and sensibilities of Nigerians who were waiting on the Federal Government for positive reaction.
Presenting the reaction, National Treasurer, Dr Ademola Aremu said that the threat does not hold water as it has confirmed the fears that the Federal Government cannot be trusted.
“With the latest action, the Federal Government has shown that they are not committed to all they have been saying. We are saying that since we agreed at the meeting that the sum of 200billion is for 2012 and 2013 revitalisation, the Federal Government should deposit same in the Central Bank of Nigeria. We are already in November and December is around the corner. If they don’t do that now, when do they want to do it?. We are saying the non-victimisation clause should be included as agreed while the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement should be included as agreed with the presidents”.
“It is a pity if the Federal Government is not willing to perfect the resolutions reached with the union. This is why we find it difficult to trust our leaders by their words. How can someone be threatening to sack lecturers when universities are already short-staffed by almost 60,000. We are not in military era. The military tried it and failed. This one will fail again. They can re-open the school. ASUU did not shut down the universities. It was the school management that ordered the students to go back home.”
Aremu said it is only when ASUU proceeds on strike that funds get into universities which are then presided over by political appointees tagged: “Committee of Pro-chancellors”.
Aremu lambasted the supervising Minister for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike saying, the government’s threat borders on irresponsibility if it could wait for four months to make any steps and scuttle it through military orders.”

Put govs’ defection behind you, Anenih tells PDP faithful

From TAIWO AMODU, Abuja
Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, yesterday admonished the  party’s faithful not to be worried over Tuesday’s defection of four governors and chieftains of the PDP to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Anenih said he regretted their action despite the trouble-shooting efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan to address their grievances.
Recall that the imposition of a list tagged: “The Unity List”, allegedly by Chief Anenih at the special National Convention held last August  which disqualified some aspirants informed the action of the G-7 governors and former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar to stage a walk-out from the venue in protest.
In a statement, Anenih lauded the President’s efforts and those of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Babangida, former National Chairmen, Senators Barnabas Gemade and Ahmadu Ali as well as all those who  “invested enough energy, commitment, maturity and sincerity in the collective efforts at reconciliation.”
According to him, “indeed, I had expected the governors to stay on in the party which has offered them a unique opportunity to serve their people.  Surprisingly, they decided to abandon their home and platform to take up tenancy in an opposition party even when it was apparent that the effort of Mr. President for genuine reconciliation was enough for them to see good reason to show restraint and understanding. However, as adults, the final decision was and remains theirs.”Anenih said.
He pleaded with the party’s faithful nation-wide to remain steadfast in their commitment ahead of 2015 general elections.
“I would like to urge our party members and sympathizers not to be disturbed by the exit of some of our governors, but to continue to mobilize grassroots support for our party, Mr. President, and his Transformation Agenda.  Our party is big and strong enough to rebound, as it has always done, in the face of such challenges,” he said.

How ex-bank manager stole N1.9bn pension funds in 3 months, EFCC tells court

From GODWIN TSA, Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja  how a former manager of the defunct Oceanic Bank, Udusegbe Omoefe Eric, allegedly connived with a principal staff of Pension Accounts in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (HSF) to steal N1.9 billion pensions within three months.
The EFCC told the court when it opened its case against the detained former Director (Pension Accounts) in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Teidi Shuaibu and 10 others. Mr Mustapha Sanni Gadaniya, the Principal Detective Superintendent to the EFCC and Head of its Forensic Accounting Unit, who was led in evidence by counsel to the commission, Chief Godwin Obla (SAN) testified as a witness.
He told Justice Ademola Adeniyi that Omoefe allegedly incorporated five fictitious companies to siphon the monies from the pension funds account.
The witness who demonstrated a high level of intelligence  in his evidence-in-chief reeled out names of committee members, suspects and figures, offhand.
But Omefe, who is a co-accused  in the case,  quickly debunked the allegation of using five ghost companies to steal N1.9 billion pension funds at any time. Although he  admitted making those statements, he said  they were not voluntary and should not be used to prosecute him.
He told the court that he was induced by the EFCC investigators to make the statements in black and white so as to nail Shuaibu.
He said the EFCC also entered into an unwritten pact with him to the effect that he would never be prosecuted but used as a witness to nail other accused persons in the matter.
Omoefe spoke through his counsel, Mr Adegoke Adewale yesterday even as he invited the judge to test the voluntariness of the statement vide trial within trial.
But the EFCC insisted yesterday that the alleged N1.9billion fraud, was uncovered by a committee set up by the EFCC to verify pension payment claims.
He told the court that Omoefe was invited to the EFCC office where he volunteered confessional statements  to the effect.
The alleged five confessional statements were shown to the accused yesterday for identification before they would be admitted in evidence.
Omoefe’s counsel used the opportunity to pray the court that the statements should be rejected.
In the alternative, he wanted the court to conduct trial within trial to ascertain the voluntariness of the alleged confessional statements.
But as the voluntariness of Omoefe’s statement became an issue yesterday, lead counsel to EFCC, Chief Oblah argued that the accused could not challenge the admissibility of the confessional statements tendered.
He said that the new rules of the court required him to object to the admissibility of the documents in writing which he did not do.
He said having slept on his right, he should not complain.
Although Omoefe ran into the difficulty of dissuading the court from ruling against him on the issue of trial within trial, senior counsel in court assisted him to argue that though the rules of the court were meant to be obeyed, but that where strict compliance with such rules would occasion injustice and breach the cardinal principle of fair hearing, they might be sacrificed on the altar of justice of the case.
Justice Adeniyi, in a bench ruling, overruled the prosecution and ordered trial within trial in the matter. He said “since the fundamental rights of the accused to fair hearing will be affected,” it would be proper to hear him out on the issue of voluntariness raised.

Ex-footballer Odartey Lamptey discovers 3 kids with wife are not his

Former Ghanaian international footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that he recently found out that all three children he had with his wife of almost 20 years are not his biological children. He made the shocking revelation in a radio interviewed when asked why he was divorcing his wife.
“...I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading, because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine" The former Aston Villa player told reporters
Meanwhile, his estranged wife Gloria Lamptey (pictured above) is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. A claim Lamptey denies. A close friend of the former Anderlecht footballer said he'd on several occasions caught his wife cheating on him but stayed with her because of his love for her and the businesses they own together.

The estranged couple are now in court

The Nigerian New National ID Card Will Come With MasterCard Chip And PIN

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) representative described the advantages of the new national identity card. Apart from many other things, it may also be used as an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card anywhere in the world where there is MasterCard logo.

Briefing journalists today in Abuja, NIMC’s Director of Technical Services, Mr Emmanuel Ogungbe disclosed the Commission have already signed an agreement with MasterCard.

He explained that, besides being just an ID card, it is also a cash card, so the holder can withdraw money in any place. Moreover, especially within the West African sub-region, it soon would become possible to travel with this card only, passport-free.

Mr. Ogungbe called the card “a general-multi-purpose card”. All the holder needs to do, he maintained, is to present it at the point of entry of any country. After the information is checked, the entry would be allowed.

Mr. Ogungbe stressed the new card is “error-proof,” and thus, secure.

“We have a system called automated biometrics identification system in our data centre that checks information of newly registered people coming into the database against what we already have in the database,” he said. “If there is a hit, that means that person was registered before, and, of course, this means we  deny new registration.
“So, there is no way of beating that system for now; I’m very confident of that. That will ensure that you can only register once.”

The card is supposed to assist in tracking criminals as well.
“What the bad elements do is to hide in a way that you won’t be able to capture them. But we are saying with this [ID card] we know who they are and we will be able to very easily locate them.” Mr. Ogungbe said. If any fingerprints are lifted at the crime scene, it is enough to send them to NIMC – and they will disclose full details on the culprits.
“Talk about even fraud in the banks, where someone will obtain a loan in a particular bank, move on to the next bank without servicing the previous loan to obtain another loan; that will become a thing of the past,” Mr. Ogungbe added.
“Because once the bank takes your national identification number, it can see all your various transactions, all various businesses that you have with all the other banks.”
He said that government had asked the commission to ‘register every single Nigerian and legal residents’ but warned the aliens against any attempt to use the card to commit crimes.
“If you are an alien and you think you can continue doing that and go scot-free, then the person’s time is numbered because very soon, we will get to him or her,” he assured.

My hips can kill – Tolani Osirin

, also known as “” is a well-known name in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry. A single mother of two, Abiodun is barely seven years in the industry. But she is already a known face with her scintillating performances. Reputed to have one of the sexiest shapes in the industry, this Lagos State University graduate of Communication Arts who is known for her calmness, has also produced many films on her own. She spoke with MURPHY AJIBADE

Excerpts:

Tell us when, where and how you joined the movie industry?
I started with the Ray Eyiwunmi Organisation. It is a group consisting of Lasun Ray, Muka Ray, and Murphy Ray. I started February 2006. I joined the group and became like an apprentice learning from them. I produced my own first movie in 2007. It was entitled Tolani Osinrin.

What prompted you go into acting?
For me, acting is inborn. My dad used to be in the Awarawa theatre group with the likes of Jide Kosoko and others. When I was in primary school, we used to practice acting. Not long ago, when some of my classmates saw me, they were like ‘O, Abiodun so you finally became an actress’. So it is something that I grew up with.
Since you joined the industry how many movies have you featured in?
I have lost count… I’m sure it is about 50 or more.

Tell us some of them?
I produced five myself, Tolani Osinrin, Okanjua, Oke-irapada, Asise Nla and Edidi Igbeyawo. I have featured in Lagos to Benin, Uncle Adisa, Opin-Irin ajo, Ohun Buruku, Aso tuntun, Boseyemi, Temiyemi by Bimbo Oshin, Taloye… I have lost count

Which one of them do you think propelled you to stardom?
I will say here that Tolani Osinrin, my first production. It shot me into limelight. All along, I had been featuring in two scenes, three scenes. But when I did Tolani Osinrin, the name got stuck with me, and people were asking ‘who is this Tolani girl?’ and so the name went a long way before my face registered on people’s minds, so Tolani Osinrin did.

Tell us about yourself?
My name is Abiodun Sofuyi, I am the last born in a family of five of which I am the only girl. My mother is a trader, my father is a prophet. I hail from Ogere in Ogun State. I attended Onayade Primary school, from there to Jibowu High School from where I proceeded to Lagos State University(LASU) where I studied Communication Arts. I did my Industrial Training at Lagos Television(LTV) before I started acting.
Most challenging role?
I am yet to see a very challenging role, but right now I will give it to Aso Tuntun. Because in the movie, I had to run seriously and because of my plumy stature it was difficult for me to run. I am not that slim and could not roll freely, but because am an actress I just had to do it. But I will still say my best is yet to come, I have not been challenged the way I really want.
Have you ever been sexually harassed to get a role?
No, because I came in through the right channel where we are not allowed to go to location without the guidance of our Oga (boss). By the time I started going to locations, I was already a producer and a known face, so it never happened to me.
What kind of clothes do you love?
I love bump shorts a lot.

Favorite perfume?
I love praga and gucci
Favorite colours?
I love flashy colours, I love facial pink, yellow, and blue

Who is your role model in the Nigeria movie industry?
I love Bukky Wright, Joke Silva, Fathia Balogun, Shola Shobowale
Most embarrassing moment on set?
It was between me and Lasun Ray, I was acting as a nurse in the movie and instead of facing the camera, I was backing it at that point he had to scold me and I was crying because I was not used to the system at that time. I felt they were insulting publicly. But along the line, I realized that is how the industry is, because for you to be good, you have to be scolded and corrected. I later played the part in the movie and when the film came out, I appreciated the scolding because I later performed well.
Most embarrassing moment with fans?
I was trekking on the street and I saw three ladies coming towards my direction, two of the ladies recoginsed me and and were friendly, and one said “Oh, see Tolani Osinrin” and they were coming towards me to greet me. But the third one wasn’t friendly, as she said “who is Tolani Osinrin?” She just drew the other two back and said “come on, let’s go”. I was so embarrassed.
Do you play romantic roles?
Sure
How far can you go?
As far as going acting dirty, because my children are going to watch my movie
How do you cope with your responsibility as a single mother, and an actress?
Here, I will give it to my mother, she is a very caring, loving mother, she takes care of my children when am not around.
How did you meet the father of your children?
We met in church.
What is the craziest thing a man has ever said to you?
Let me just say it the way he said it, “this your hips go kill person o” (Laughs).
Tell us someone you admire and will like to meet.
Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva. Actually, Olu Jacobs featured in Opin Irinajo (Part 1), but then it was in Part 2 that I featured because that was when I joined the Lasun Eyiwunmi group. So I never had the opportunity of meeting him.
How do you spend your leisure?
I am a homely person, I stay at home and watch movies, then take my kids out.
Apart from acting, what else do you do?
Presently, nothing. But am planning to go into business very soon.

What sort of business?
I am planning to go into clothing and jewelries.
What is the most treasured thing we will find in your wardrobe?
That should be my hymn book and my bible.

If you are opportuned to change something what would you like to change about yourself?
I would like to have a full neck…(laughs) and a bolder face
There has been instances when marketers fail to pay movie producers due to one reason or the other. What has been your experience?
I will just sat that God should come to our aid, I wouldn’t say it is 100% the fault of the marketers. I belive it is the economy generally. Let’s take for instance, I am a baker , I bought flour and baked my bread let’s assume I baked 100 and out of the hundred baked I sold just 50, so how do I cover for the money I used to purchase flour?
So, I think it is the same thing that is happening in the movie industry, because the economy is very bad, if a marketer prints 10,000 copies, and he is unfortunate that he was unable to sell more than 3,000 copies and he has 7,000 copies left there is no way he is going to pay the producer. But you may not know this if you are not close to them to hear from the horses mouth. Everyone of us blame them for owing us, although there are some of them that are born debtors. But for some it is just due to circumstances and the economy, that is why we are begging the government to come to our aid
In the space of five years you have been able to produce 6 movies, how have you been financing your production?
The first one I got a sponsor for it, thereafter I became a commercial actress. And don’t eat with my 10 fingers (meaning: I save some of my income).

What should we expect from you in the next five years?
Olorun lo ni dede (man proposes God disposes). I just pray to God that He should put me where I would love so much.
Are you working on something right now?
Not really. I want to take my time, do my homework well, do more research and come out with something good, a better movie than the five I have produced put together. Of course, am shooting another movie, I will be on location on Friday (yesterday). But I don’t know the title yet.

So, how do you rate Nollywood?
I’ll give kudos to Nollywood right now because we are improving technically and the artists too are improving.
How would you compare Nollywood and others like Bollywood and Hollywood?
Well, permit me to say a Yoruba adage ‘omo eni ole se’di bebere ka fi’leke sidi elomi’, even if we are not the first, I’ll give us the first. We are the best anywhere, anytime.

What can you say about productions that are written, produced and directed by just one same person?
Well, let me be sincere, such a practice is not good. If i write my story, I’m not going to direct, I will just be an actress, Shikena…, I will not even be the one to coordinate. I think there should be division of labour. Maybe those people think they are Jacks of all trade, that they can do it well.
What can you say about the issue of piracy?
I just pray that God should come to our rescue. In fact, everybody is trying their best. The actors, the actresses and so also the marketers are trying to curb it. Though it’s not easy to curb them at once but it’s been working ‘small small’. All I’m saying is that the government should come to our rescue. For example, the last film by Olasco,it was on DVD so it will not be easy to be pirated. So, that’s why I said if the government can come to our rescue then we’ll minimize the number of films coming out. If an actor/actress feature in a film or two in a year, we’ll be okay. It will cover up 50 movies in a year, so, they should just help.
How do you think government can help?
For example, football is a kind of entertainment, right? And government is investing in it. If they can do the same thing in the movie industry, like calling the leaders asking them how they can help them. They can give them certain amount of money and tell them they should shoot less movies in a year, and also make sure that all the artists, the crews featuring in such movies get substantial amounts. They should just come to our rescue.
How is your relationship with the father of your kids?
Its okay, very cordial. We talk when it’s necessary.
So, as a producer, how do you get your inspiration?
I get inspiration from things happening around me, and at times it is just ‘aroko’ (fallacy).
What is your advice for the upcoming ones?
Uhmm…, I ‘ll say here that they should be determined. They should not come into the industry with the aim of dating an actor or any producer or better still a star to make it. They should be ready to tolerate, they should have the spirit of perseverance and they should be extremely humble. That’s all. That is the major thing, humility.
How will you describe your personality?
Ha…, I’m kogbona kotutu (not too hot, not too cold) (laughs)…, Let me be serious. I’m an introvert, 60% of me is an introvert and 40% of me is an extrovert. 60% temperamental, 40% calm. I don’t keep grudges, I’m a kind of person that when you offend me you will see it immediately that I’m angry, then after some minutes it’s gone. I don’t keep malice. Even, if the person is planning to hold grudges I will go and meet the person. I’m like that.
